New On Netflix This Week (US): Black Panther, Classic Animated Movies, And TV Series You Missed

Last week was big for Netflix, as the streaming service added nearly 40 TV series and movies, including films both beloved, like The Breakfast Club, and infamous, like Spider-Man 3. Although not nearly as many movies and series are being added this week, there’s a lot of good stuff to look forward to.

Netflix added animated classics Lilo & Stitch and The Emperor’s New Groove on September 2. If you’re looking for something a little more recent, then check out Next Gen on September 7. It’s an animated movie about a rebellious teen named Mai who befriends an advanced combat robot and then has to figure out a way to stop a technological genius from taking over the world. The movie has a similar tone and art style to Big Hero Six, but takes inspiration for its battles and music from Japanese anime. Next Gen stars Steven Universe‘s Charlyne Yi as Mai.

Two more pieces of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe come to Netflix this week too. You can now watch Black Panther, which follows the rise of King T’Challa between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. The second season of Iron Fist goes live on Netflix on September 7 and continues Danny’s story after the events of Netflix’s The Defenders.
