More than just hippos and crocs: The hidden biodiversity of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park

Lake St. Lucia, South Africa, may be the famous tourist drawcard in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, but aquatic scientists have recently found that there may be proportionally more diversity of life in the small freshwater puddles and ponds surrounding the lake than in the lake body itself, or anywhere else in the park for that matter, and it comes in the form of water beetles. Their study is published in the open-access journal ZooKeys.
