AI-powered ship sets sail for sea trials and environmental research missions


The Mayflower Autonomous Ship today set sail from Plymouth on the southern coast of England, 400 years since its namesake left the same port to take the Pilgrims to Massachusetts, where they established the first permanent colony in New England. The AI and solar-powered marine research vessel is designed to collect environmental data that can deepen our understanding of global warming, ocean pollution, and marine mammal conservation.
