My experience with Eatigo as a standard app without such promotions has actually been pretty decent as it is, so having this as an icing on the cake is pretty nice.
Eatigo, for those new to it, is an app that allows you to make reservations at restaurants and get a discount off items (drinks are usually excluded) of between 10-65%. Most restaurants offer somewhere between 10-30% off, but it’s not unusual to find some places with 40-50% off.
As far as I am aware, the theory behind it is that there are certain periods of off-peak demand, and this is supposed to be a way to try and attract customers during off-peak periods by offering larger discounts during these periods. Think Monday-Wednesday nights. Even though hypothetically, this should dictate that there are larger % discounts during this period, I haven’t always found this to be the case. i.e. discounts on Thursday/Saturday nights seem to be the same.
I’m trying to get into the habit of checking Eatigo before dining at a place but sometimes I forget. Can be a bit annoying to only find out after I dine, so try to check before you dine somewhere!
Note that places that accept other payment methods (think GrabPay, FavePay, MilesLife) typically don’t allow you to pay with anything except the more “default” payment options of cash and Credit Card. If they accept Credit Card and the place is also on ShopBack Go, it might be a way to double dip!
